Capital Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center

DOT logoThe Capital Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) is now operational at the USBC Community Economic Development Corporation. This is a great development for DC Metro Area D/W/MBE firms in Civil Engineering and Heavy Highway and Transit construction.

SBTRCs are field offices of the US DOT Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), and provide technical and financial assistance to help small businesses compete for and participate in federally funded transportation contracts. These include both direct federal opportunities (at US DOT itself, on Federal Lands Highway and National Parks projects, etc.) and federally funded projects at State DOTs and regional agencies like WMATA and MWAA. Other SBTRCs are responsible for huge regional areas; this is the first to cover a Metropolitan area, a more realistic mission.

The Capitol Region SBTRC is at 1050 17th Street NW, Suite 810, Washington DC 20008, and sees clients Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from 12 Noon to 4:00 PM. For more information, contact Leslie Jean at Leslie@USBlackChambers.org .
